Hello, Bob, I have no doubt, that "Vater der Flüsse" is correct; it can also be seen on en and fr. Albeit, do you have access to the Swedish text? Adding the original text could clarify or "proof" that measure. best wishes and seasonal greetings. --Maasikaru (Diskussion) 20:50, 20. Dez. 2020 (CET)Beantworten

Hi Maasikaru, I will look up the Swedish. I have uploaded the Swedish volumes to Wikisource. I was sure enough of the result, that I didn't bother, what was there seemed so nonsensical, and I am used to the Mississippi being referred to in a similar way as "Father of Waters." But I think your proposal, as you say, would provide a firmer proof, and it has been my practice in like situations on this project. And it is certainly notable that the English Wikipedia article doesn't have a firm reference on this issue.
This page was the wildest I've seen in the various errors. Thank you for the problem in the original you caught. I'm also pretty sure Akansea is just referring to Arkansas, and putting the "r" in made it clearer. "Arkansea" is the spelling in the English version, and the French translator went ahead and substituted "Arkansas," perhaps going a little too far, but I will see what the Swedish has to say there as well.
Best wishes for the season. Since I've been working outside mostly, the winter weather here in New England has been slowing me down a bit. Probably the best for the rest of my life. Library Guy (Diskussion) 22:01, 20. Dez. 2020 (CET)Beantworten
OK. I needed Google Translate on that one. I let "Akansea" stand since that's what's in the Swedish (to my surprise), and who am I to speculate on other spellings? Thanks for your prodding, and thanks again for your help on this project. Library Guy (Diskussion) 22:31, 20. Dez. 2020 (CET)Beantworten
For what it's worth, apparently "Arkansea" is French for Arkansas. I think the Swedish got it wrong. See "Arkansas Post" on the English Wikipedia. I am also going to leave "Arkansea" stand on the English version since that translator has a tendency to do spelling corrections, a bit much to expect from the German translator. And I will likewise leave the second occurrence of "l'Arkansas" stand in the French edition. Library Guy (Diskussion) 16:05, 27. Dez. 2020 (CET)Beantworten
