3. des Berliner und Meißener Porzellans, Berlin and Meiszen (an interesting old town in the kingdom of Saxony, 16 miles northwest of Dresden) are the chief centers of the German porcelain industry. The first porcelain factory in Europe was established at Meiszen by Böttger in 1710, the Berlin factory being founded in 1750. Most of the so-called „Dresden china“ really comes from Meiszen.
