Ida Brink

Diesen Fall betreffend findet sich im Jahresbericht der Gesellschaft für 1886 folgendes:

“[…] on April 28, 1886, an officer of the society found Minnie and Ida Brink, aged, respectfully, eleven and ten years, selling papers in saloons on Ann street an Park row, and arrested them. On the following day they were arraigned before Justice O’Reilly in the First District Police Court, by whom they were committed to the New York Juvenile Asylum. Since the children were placed in the institution the death of Ida has occurred. The action of the society in causing the arrest of the children has recently been subjected to criticism more or less severe in its character.
